I trust that each of you had a wonderful Memorial Day and were able to honor someone who served in the United States Military. Memorial Day is also unofficially the start of summer, and many are planning their summer vacations.
The Rotary Club of Santa Monica is planning the start of our 102nd year of service to our community and the World on July 1st. Dr. Ken Waltzer, our incoming President, along with his wife, Jennifer, will return from attending The Rotary International Conference in Australia this week. (Here is a fun fact, the Waltzer’s celebrate their wedding anniversary on June 24 th , the day of our de-throning.)
Our last two in-person meetings at the Hilton, this year, are coming up in June and I hope you plan to attend. We have renewed our contract with the Hilton for our meetings in this next Rotary year. I’m looking forward to Ken’s year. He has some surprises for us.
I’ll be chairing the District Breakfasts for District 5280 in the upcoming year.
