February 2nd was a great day! We heard speaker Andrea Quintero from Pepperdine University, we gave away lots of money, we drank champagne thanks to our Santa Monica Rotary Past Presidents, and we celebrated our Executive Secretary's 10 year anniversary working for the club!

We love giving away money from our Santa Monica Rotary Club Foundation!
Monte Herring (middle) presented a check to Chris Baca and Kevin McNulty of Meals on Wheels!
And Dick Lawrence presented a check to Linda Greenberg, Executive Director of the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation!

President Tom Larmore and Past President Paul Gaulke welcomed speaker Andrea Quintero from Pepperdine University, who spoke on Illusions and Mindfulness!
We toasted Charlie Follette for his extraordinary individual effort to secure financial aid from both District 5280 and the Santa Monica Rotary Club for a young man who will go to LA Tech to earn a trade certification!

Thank you to our Past Presidents for sponsoring our Champagne Reception!

Monty McCormick was especially joyous! And thank you to Tammy Andrews and Josh Bradburn for being our greeters at the door!

Laurel Rosen, Len Lanzi and Ann Greenspun were having a marvelous time catching up!

10 years? What?!
Executive Savi Labensart surprised the club with a 10 Year Anniversary Celebration of her employment with the club! She decorated the tables with roses and chocolate, and passed out prizes to the winners of her Savi's Surprise Challenge, which we found out was part of the celebration all along! In her announcement, she professed her profound gratitude and love for her Rotary family!

but was persuaded to trade it in for a more useful prize!

Thank you as always to our song leaders, who diligently put together the music for each week!
This time Barb Bishop took the mic, accompanied by the ever-dependable Ken Waltzer!

It was such a wonderful meeting! Thanks to all who made it possible!
