This group of District 5280 Rotarians (and spouses) are shown having fun just before enjoying a Japanese dinner. The group gathered the day after closing ceremonies. They stayed the night at a traditional Japanese Inn (Ryokan) .

Bottom Row: Kathy Haworth - Culver City, traditional Japanese server, Rudy Alvarez - Westwood.

This years Rotary International Convention was held in Osaka, Japan during May of 2004. Most of the convention meetings venues were at the world famous Osaka Dome, the Osaka International Convention Center, and the Rihga Royal Hotel.

The Convention has been held twice before in Japan, in 1961 and 1978, both of those were held in Tokyo.

The convention met over a period of four days. A couple of this years major topics discussed  were ways to help worldwide peace, poverty, and hunger.

A big thank you goes out to Art Endo from the Culver City Club. Art did a fabulous job putting together a group from District 5280 to attend  and support the Incoming District Governor Pat Cashin (also from Culver City). I found out that Art is not only a great CPA, he is a good dancer (I have the videos), singer, and an extraordinaire vacation planner and coordinator.
