Thanks to Hugh Travis for arranging for us to have our meeting at the Boy Scout Camp Josepho for lunch on Feb 23. Hugh explained to us how the Camp is home to over 300 Scouts on an average weekend. |

on November 10 his experiences while a prisoner of war in Germany during
World War II. Thanks to Dick and many veterans like him, we are able to enjoy
this free country.

our program chair introduced Michael Josephson
on November 3, 2000. Michael received a standing ovation for his talk on
"character." He explained that in order to be happy one must
develop strong personal relationships, and in order to develop strong personal
relationships one must have character.( Paul another awesome program!)
Connolly Oyler introduced Dr. Mark C. Scholz to us on October 27, 2000.
Dr. Scholz, a renowned expert on Prostate Cancer, explained that the
early stages of this disease are as treatable as Diabetes or High Blood
Pressure. This is why it is so important that our male members get their annual
physicals and insist on the relatively new PSA Blood Screening test.

Bohn introduces Our Guinness Book of World Records Holder
Jim Cayton. Jim explained how he has spent over nine years on cruise ships at
his encore craft talk on October 20, 2000.
President John Lehne and Director George Collins introduce Cato Fystdal, the county's agricultural commissioner. Cato explained at lunch on October 13, 2000 what to do if the Africanized honey bees (AKA Killer Bees) attack.

of the great Greenbay Packers coach Vince Lombardi. "Lombardi" told us
how " leaders are made, not born " at lunch on October 6, 2000.
Jim
Butts and Karen Baker were amazed to see an Olympic gold medal up this close at
lunch on September 29. Nikki Stone told us how she won gold at the 1998 Winter
Olympics even though her doctors told her she would never ski again.

Tirone has been cured! Dr. Noel Aguilar explained to us at lunch on
September 22 how he was able to help Phil from falling asleep at Rotary meetings
through homeopathy. (John this sounds like a retroactive fine should be
issued!).
Jim
Reidy introduces Captain Ron Green for lunch on September 8, 2000. Ron moved all
of us who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers, when he told us about how
his "Every 15 Minute" drunk driving teenage awareness program
has saved lives.
Our
own Mike O'Hara gave us an insider's view of the next Olympics at lunch on
August 25, 2000.

Pope introduces Dr. Tom Donner from Santa Monica College to discuss the
"Education Initiative" at lunch on August 18, 2000.

Gaulke reminds everyone about the "Four Way Test" before Rev. Sandy
Richards and Tom Lorimore gave us their lively opposing views on the

Olson congratulates his good friend Dr. Larry Hornbaker for a great presentation
at lunch on July 28, 2000. Dr Hornbaker explained how Pepperdine University's
assets have grown from approximately $1 million to over $600 million since 1970.
We presented over 40 projects to Governor Vicki Radel and her three assistants at our club assembly on July 14, 2000. Very impressive!

bye Jack! Jan Siegal is happy because she will be able to see her husband
now that he has been officially dethroned as president on June 23, 2000. We will
miss you Jack!
