Meetings and Pictures

November/December 2003

12/19/03 - We Celebrate the holidays!

The Carlthorp Childrens' Choir was great!

President-Elect Lionel Ruhman with family and Kai-Li Quigley

Our Speaker for 12/12/03 was Sharona Justman. Sharona spoke to us about how our past U.S. presidents' actions helped change the course of history.
Our team of photographers has been trying for years to get a picture of long term member Bob Sullivan. Well, we finally succeeded when we caught Bob being honored by the club by celebrating his birthday.

Past president Jack Siegal was our speaker on 12/5/03. Jack did an amazing job taking us down memory lane when he talked to us about his experiences in Korea serving as a war correspondent. Jack delivered a perfect talk even though he was our "fill-in" speaker. Jack was given less than 24 hours notice in which to prepare for his presentation.

Buzz McCoy spoke to us on Business Ethics on 11/21/03

Jon Kemp on the right is shown congratulating Buzz for a great presentation. Our own Monsignor Lloyd Torgerson is  the pastor of Arnold Schwarzenegger's church, St. Monica's Catholic Church. Lloyd was honored with the task of giving the invocation just prior to Arnold being sworn in as California's newest governor.

Former District Governor Paul Netzel was our speaker for lunch on 11/14/03

"A world that is hungry is not a world at peace."

Paul talked to us about the amazing things your contributions to the Rotary Foundation have done to help mankind.

New members were inducted!

PP Dick Lawrence is shown congratulating Jillian Alexander.

Wow! Is this Dick Lawrence  also congratulating  new member Richard Taussig?

Our speakers for our Veterans' Day Program on 11/7/03 were Master Sergeant Jose Guillen, USMC, and an excellent speaker in Colonel Joseph Smith, USMC (Ret).

Members shown left to right: Nat Trives, Bob Gabriel, Herb Roney, Marv Levin, Jack Siegal, Clyde Smith, and Mike Nichols.
