| Lunch on June 4, 2004 was a very busy day. We were honored to hear Craft Talkers Susan Annett and Ray Briem; we honored our local students with scholarships; and we made contributions to our local charities. | |
| Susan is beaming all over after acing her craft talk. We found out that Susan loves her job and is our head librarian for the City of Santa Monica. Susan loves to get involved with many of Rotary's projects. She currently is serving on the Web Site Committee and has helped put together several of this current years Rotary Web pages. | |
| Ray is a world renowned radio talk show host . He worked for over 20 years as KABC's late night radio personality. He told us that he thought Ronald Reagan was a great president and showed us a personal letter from him. Ironically, Ray's talk was on the day before that President Reagan passed away. Ray also showed us a copy of his star that was awarded to him on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. | |
| President Dee Menzies is shown with John Pacheco. Our Club throughout the year makes substantial contributions to local charities. John is the Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Santa Monica and is accepting a donation for one of the Red Cross's many functions. | |

| Another year - another great performance by Santa Monica College Musical Theater. | |
Erroll G. Southers', A former FBI Special Agent was our guest for lunch on 5/7/04. |
|
Erroll (left) reminded Marv Levin that security is everyone's business. Erroll, who is a security consultant told us a chilling story. He told us how close we were to a disaster at LA International Airport if not for the quick thinking of a guard on the Canadian Border. In December of 2000 this sharp thinking guard stopped a terrorist from bringing explosives into this country which were to be used to blow up the Bradley Terminal at LAX.
