Dr. Bruce Goldberg, Hypnotist was our guest speaker for lunch on August 17, 2001.  Bruce  firmly believes that there are too many drugs being prescribed and that a lot of mental illness could be cured by heightening mental consciousness.

Premier Peanut Man Roger Owens stares at the catcher, takes the sign, winds up, and delivers the first pitch to open up our meeting on 8/10/01  Catcher Kai-Li Quigley easily handles  the first pitch. Instant replay expert (and photographer) Harmon Sieff declares the  pitch to be a ball.

VP George Collins introduced The Getty's Senior Conservator Andrea Rothe on 8/4/2001.  Andrea gave us a whole new appreciation for art when he shared with us a behind the scenes look at restoring and preserving the Masters' paintings.

An emotional Eloise Helwig becomes our newest member at our district breakfast on 7-24-01. Eloise is inducted by District Governor Len Wasserstein, as her proud sponsor Jack Siegal and our president Hal Quigley intently observe. 

 

George Collins introduced "The National Enquirer" Senior Reporter  Patricia Shipp on July 27, 2001(Aloha Day). Patricia explained to us how it took over 3 Months of hard work to get the Jessie Jackson Story.

Nat Trives and John "The Baptist" Miller find out why our City's Manager Susan E. McCarthy is "Bullish on Santa Monica". Susan was our guest speaker for lunch on July 20, 2001

Emmy nominated actor Joe Regalbuto was introduced by our new member (and his wife of 29 years) Rosemary Regalbuto as our lunch speaker on July 13, 2001. Joe shared with us several stories of his career as an actor including his first meeting with Clint Eastwood and his love and respect for the late Jack Lemon.

Barry Bouley was congratulated by Diane Margolin for giving his craft talk on July 6, 2001. Barry brings Diane to tears when he reminds Diane that it is now her turn to give her craft talk. Radomir Samardzic a.k.a. "Joyful man of peace" also gave his craft talk. Marv Levin congratulated Radamir for a great talk  and thanked him for going easy on the attorney jokes.
