The week of March 18-22, 2002 is the sixth year our Santa Monica Rotary Club will participate in "Rotary Reads to Kids" when more than 50 Rotarians go into the Santa Monica Schools and read books which we donate to Kindergarten, first, and second grade classrooms. The first year we donated 350 books to 70 classrooms in the District. This year we will donate more than 8000 books to classrooms in our district, St. Ann's parish school and to the Compton District so they can distribute them to their schools.
A big thank you goes out to Jeannie Wells (the administrative assistant to the
Superintendent who has been the heart of the program for the past six years).
