Rotary Around LA

Rotary enjoys a private cooking class and dinner at LA Food Works

Rotary Rockets 2007

Rotary Around LA chair Brian Linnekens kicked off the year in style on August 25th with a cooking class and dinner at LA Food Works.  As the would-be chefs arrived, the professional chefs provided some exquisite canapes to demonstrate the right way to do it.  Wine and beer ensured enjoyment if not skill.

Iao Katagiri and Holly Gustlin teamed up to to produce a creative garnish...Crinkled Spinach.

David Potter and Brian Linnekens supervised
 the wine...
...after which Brian felt sufficiently fortified to try his hand as a souffle chef!
Holly, Jim Westover, and Pat Bofird
consult before diving into assembling the
Chopped Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad.

Tom, Stephanie and Ryan Loo focused on the Lemon Souffle assembly line.  Bet Tom, of course, found it hard to keep away from the grill.
Jim Westover proved to be a very
experienced and proficient waiter.

Ah...dinner time!  The menu was Chopped Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad, Snap Sugar Peas with Cellophane Noodles, Crinkled Spinach, Grilled Tri-Tip Steak with Sake Marinade, individual Lemon Souffle cups, and Rum-Soaked Chocolate Coffee Cake.
David Potter proved to be superbly
 comfortable in the kitchen.

So, do you think Brian was a happy host?
All who joined in congratulated Brian on
a fabulous (and delicious) Rotary Around LA event!
