FARF 2003

The First Annual Rotary Feast

(Thirteenth Edition -- or some number thereabouts)

Fun has always been an integral part of the Rotary Club of Santa Monica.  October 29, 2003, was yet another example of the members having fun.  The venue was the Beach Club, which was topped by a Steak Barbeque.  Approximately forty Rotarians enjoyed an evening of "fellowship and real food".  The evening was also educational.  For example: We learned that a Porterhouse Steak is really a T-Bone Steak with an extra large filet.

PP (Past President) Sypros Dellaportas was the party coordinator and he pitched-in with the cooking duties by helping Sous Chef & Chief "Tong-Man" Graham Pope and  Chief Chef Steve Eorio.
PP Kent Colberg was caught smiling with President Dee Menzies.  Our very own birthday boy, PP Bill Hunt, was warming his hands with a cup of coffee.  Dick Robbins, VP Allan Young and Bruce Hartenbaum were just looking on.

P.S.  A preposition is a bad word to end a sentence with.

PP Spyros Dellaportas was informing President-Elect Lionel Ruhman on the art of being a successful President.  President Dee was amused.  Director Robert Segal, PP Hal Quigley, Gerry Smallwood and George Collins were just posing for the picture.
President Dee Menzies was smoozing with the troops -- Carol Jackson, Robert Segal and our new Executive Secretary, June Doy.

Thank you to the organizers and workers:  PP Spyros Dellaportas, Steve Eorio, Graham Pope, Lionel Ruhman, Paul Gaulke, Monte McCormick, Sam Muslin, Erik Jorgensborg and anyone inadvertently forgotten and missed.  All that attended had a wonderful evening.

....and a big thank you goes out to ace reporter Clark Kent for the super pictures and commentary!
