Dee-Throning Party 2004
Once again our Rotary Club held a fantastic party at Casa del Mar. Honoring outgoing President Dee Menzies and welcoming incoming President Lionel Ruhman and his Board were over 215 guests, including members, friends, families and Rotary District dignitaries. Thanks to hotel manager, Klaus Mennekes, and his wonderful staff, the planning committee under the direction of Paul and Marilyn Leoni, was able to decorate and put on a program just as they had envisioned.
The theme, Done With Class, was reflected in Paul's choice of entertainment with
Carol Robbins, harpist Sherril Wood, flautist, who played during the
cocktail hour in addition to strolling violinist Bob Korda and violist Alexis Carreon.
There were many people who worked to make the event the success it was. They are
Diane Margolin, Mark Herrier, Steve Litvack, David Bohn,
Blair Brandenburg, Karen Baker, Spyros Dellaportas, Dick
Rice, June Doy, Lorraine Jossel, Hal
and Kai-Li Quiqley, RoseMary Regalbuto, Bill Fritzsche, Bill
Hunt, (The Birthday Boy), and Patricia Farris. The memorable skit included Karen and Spyros with a
stellar cast of actors: Judy Neveau, Bill Crookston, Paul
Gaulke, RoseMary Regalbuto, Tom Loo and Alonzo Hill. Even
Governor "Ahrnold" 's voice was heard.
Dee told us that she could not have done it without the help of her great "team" of Officers, Directors and Members. Dee ended her term by presenting over 40 awards of special recognition.
Thanks for the year Dee, we will miss your great leadership!

Governor's Do Care!It never fails to amaze me how our District Governor John Colville is there at most of our major events. The Governor and his super executive aide Carmela Raack are being presented recognition for always being there for us.
