ISSUE NO. 40 May 30, 2003 OUR 81st YEAR

HEADS UP!
Gracing our head table this week were BETTINA DUVAL, MATT DINOLFO, ANN GREENSPUN, NEW MEMBER JUAN LLAURO, AND INVOCATEUR ED MOOSBURGER.
MATT DINOLFO, the Michigan born M.D., and past City Council Candidate, who was once the Chief of Staff of just about everything, gave a "Nuts and Bolts of a Campaign" that was punctuated with humor through the creative use of Far Side cartoons. His good natured tale of the campaign trail was a joy to hear and good for a few belly laughs.
As an overview of the process, it was a fun, lighthearted, enjoyable, educational and informative talk, but left this reporter thinking that perhaps the old adage about making sausage and legislation, should have the campaign trail added to it - you better have a strong stomach.
VISITORS AND GUESTS
Visiting Rotarians were MARK UNG, CONNIE McGUIRE and MICHAEL CULLEN, who brought us great FREE parking passes at The Parking Spot, and GREG ENGLE the District Governor Elect Designate ( Someone please tell me I got this right!) for Orange County.

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
Sometimes not getting what we want is so much better for us.
"I suppose if I got the job I wanted at Woolworths, I never would have left home." He went on to become a Radio Broadcaster, Actor, Union President, Governor of the State of California, and President of the United States of America. Of course that man is Ronald Reagan, 40th President.
