May 9 - Michael Rich, RAND in the coming year and major issues

If you want to know about why good public policy is so hard to find and what we can expect over the next several years, who better to ask than the world's premiere think tank, the RAND Corporation?  Celebrating its 60th anniversary, RAND is looking ahead to the tough issues that will confront the nation.  Sharing some of these thoughts with the Santa Monica Rotary Club will be Michael Rich, Executive Vice President, RAND's second-ranking officer. 

He also serves as Co-chair of the Board of the RAND-Qatar Policy Institute with Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, and is Chairman of the International Institute of Strategic Studies-U.S.  Rich formerly headed the RAND division that conducts studies for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, the Unified Combatant Commands, the defense agencies, the United States Marine Corps, the United States Navy, and various intelligence agencies. Locally, he serves on the board of directors of WISE & Healthy Aging, Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center's Board of Advisors, and is a past chair of the Financial Oversight Committee of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.
