Paul A. Netzel Bio R.I. District 5280

Paul Netzel is chairman/CEO of Netzel Associates, inc., a leading management-consulting firm he founded in 1985 specializing in work with not-for-profit organizations and institutions throughout the Western U.S.

A Rotarian with 34 years perfect attendance, Paul is a past-president of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles (LA5) and was 1997-98 Governor of District 5280. He will serve as a Group Discussion Leader for R.I.’s 2003 International Assembly, a training program for incoming District Governors from around the world. He will also chair the 2003 Rotary Institute for Zones 23/24 and be co-convener of the 2004 Institute in Hawaii.

Paul is chair of the Host Committee for the 2008 R.I. Convention in Los Angeles. He represented District 5280 at the 2001 Council on Legislation in Chicago and will do so again at the 2004 Council. Paul served as a National Advisor of the Rotary Foundation Permanent Fund (2000-02) and is a recipient of The Rotary Foundation’s Citation for Meritorious Service.

Paul’s community service extends beyond Rotary having served as Mayor of Culver City, CA for two terms while a city council member (1980-88). Previously, he served as Culver City Board of Education president and, most recently, held leadership positions on the boards of the Boy Scouts Los Angeles Area Council, the Culver-Palms YMCA, Goodwill Industries of Southern California, United Way and the Advisory Board of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

Paul and Diane enjoy traveling, reading and community service—are Paul Harris Fellows and R.I. Foundation Major Donors—and have two grown children, Chip and Shari, both of whom are active Rotarians and Paul Harris Fellows.
